Comprehensive PHonEmic Awareness, PHONICS & Reading Fluency assessment
I conduct a comprehensive reading assesesment that includes 3 parts:
➤ Phonemic Awareness
➤ Decoding skills (both phonetic & irregular words)
➤ Oral Reading Fluency (ORF)
With this package, you will recieve a detailed report, outlining your child's strengths and weaknesses as they relate to reading, along with recommendations should you decide to move forward with private tutoring.
Please note: this is NOT diagnostic testing, nor is it a 'dyslexia screener'. Our services fall somewhere in-between, and are meant to inform instructional practice. Only a licensed psychologist can administer diagnostic tests to determine whether your child has a Specific Learning Disability (SLD), thereby qualifying for an IEP or 504 plan in public school. These plans confer legal obligations on behalf of the school, so often take a long time to get administered. If you suspect your child has a language-based learning difference, please do NOT wait to see if they 'catch up'. Early intervention is critical in improving outcome.
